Press Release (ePRNews.com) - Rockville Centre, New York - Feb 18, 2016 - Salsoul Records, founded in 1974 by brothers, Joseph Kenneth, and Stanley Cayre, was a highly popular record label specializing in Disco, Funk, and Latin soul.
DJ Lyvio G stated “Salsoul had such a powerful influence in the 70s and 80s, not just for Disco but for music in general. The ability to survive an era where many had perished is Remarkably special that deserves to be recognized”.
Releasing their first 12 inch in 1976, Salsoul has issued approximately 300 singles and a plethora of albums in the 70s and early 80s. Despite being affected by the crash of Disco in the late 1970s, Salsoul was one of the few labels to survive and continue to stay in business. Eventually shutting down in 1984, Salsoul was revived in 1992 as Salsoul New Generation Records, gaining popularity in the UK and Europe.
