Press Release ( - Sydney, Australia - Nov 23, 2015 -

“Not everyone can paint or draw, but anyone can copy…”

Angelina Chamber, Journalist

Jodi Van Meegeren the relative of famous art forger launches website exposing people and organizations who engage in art cheating and false marketing. “Due to there being so many real true to life and talented artists out there trying hard to make an honest living, they and the Art industry must be protected from possible frauds, scams or cheating” says Van Meegeren. In launching her first blog post Van Meegeren takes aim at an emerging Australian photo copyist and would be artist CJ Hendry (aka Catherine Jenna Hendry) and her dealer bill Tikos of Coolhunter. As with all human enterprises, the art world can also succumb to greed, pride and ambition where artists and their dealers hope for recognition and wealth. In such a climate that consists of values and often heated desires, it is not surprising that cheating and fraud has the potential to flourish. For works of painting, sculpture and drawings are material objects that derive their often monetary value generally from factors such as aesthetic qualities, – who made what, how and when, It is often the latter that play role in most art frauds today. Speaking about the blog Van Meegeren said, “My grand father Edward came under extreme scrutiny for his imitations and art forgeries despite being a frustrated and very talented painter in his own right. I believe that genuine true artists should be encouraged and supported throughout their careers so as to minimize the chances of having to resort to unlawful measures to earn a living from art. Due to the Art industry being so difficult area to break into by many emerging artists. It is imperative that they and the public including art collectors are protected from possible cheaters who not only rob potential income opportunities from honest and hard working artists but can potentially damage the art industry’s reputation as whole”. For More Information contact [email protected] – Website:
