Press Release (ePRNews.com) - TORONTO - Jul 03, 2018 - LED curing systems are quickly replacing broad spectrum bulb systems when it comes to using light-curable adhesives in medical device assembly applications. But that replacement should not take place without careful consideration of several important factors that ultimately impact the performance of the finished device. Because not all light-curable chemistries are LED optimized, and some formulas may not be LED compatible at all, they are not always able to be dropped into an existing line. In cases where the adhesive does cure with LED, it’s important to ensure that all adhesive bonds are still maintaining the same performance characteristics in your device or assembly. An adhesive cured with LED does not necessarily deliver the same performance properties as the broad-spectrum-cured adhesive it’s replacing.
This live webinar upcoming on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 2 p.m. EDT, will focus on the key points to consider when setting up your process validation to switch from a broad-spectrum bulb system to a new LED system. In addition to learning about LED curing technology, you’ll hear actual application experiences from a qualified process engineer with experience in setting up, conducting, and completing a process validation to successfully switch from broad spectrum to LED. Our guest engineer will review process validation definitions and requirements, tips for success, potential pitfalls to avoid, and things to consider and watch for relative to your light-curable adhesive.
Moving to an LED system is often a great move for a manufacturer because of the many benefits associated with LED. But that transition must be properly executed and validated. Join this webinar to learn how to switch to an LED system.
Featured speakers from Dymax Corporation Stacey Chance, Global Product Manager for Medical Adhesives and Michelle Gumbert, Product Line Manager for Adhesives will also present the following key takeaways:
- A review of the benefits of LED curing technology
- How your light-curable adhesive may be affected when switching from broad spectrum to LED
- Key considerations for your process validation setup
- Lessons learned from an experienced process engineer
