Top three takeaways from the 60th Annual Seminar held by the Americans Working Around the Globe (AWAG):
1. The Pareto Principle (80/20 rule) also applies to volunteer organizations.
20% of your people do 80% of your work so invest in training, rewarding and promoting them.
2. Treat your organization as a business and give it the respect that it deserves.
3. Put your organization’s donation into context (what did it take to get that money to the community) taking an opportunity to communicate to the community what you do and how you do it.
