Atiya Rose Siddiqi Announces A Five Star Review From For Her Book Loving You

Press Release ( - NEW YORK - Aug 04, 2018 - Atiya Rose Siddiqi Announces A Five Star Review From For Her Book Loving You

Author Atiya Rose Siddiqi is pleased to announce that her book of poetry, entitled Loving You received five stars from

Loving You by Atiya Rose Siddiqi is a collection of short poems exploring this very concept. Loosely based on the poet’s life, it depicts a journey of beauty, pain, loss, and, ultimately, the love shared by soulmates. From the moment the narrator and her love interest first meet to their last goodbye and everything in between, Siddiqi creates the image of a very specific relationship yet one with which most people can identify. It is not a picture-perfect romance but a real, raw relationship complete with all the ups, the downs, the laughter, and the tears.

Siddiqi’s poetry is not like the form poems taught in school. Rather than following a prescribed structure or rhyme scheme, they flow freely from one line break to the next, using the poet’s own ear and heart to create a more organic rhythm. This rhythm comforts the reader and lures him/her into a false sense of security only to overturn the beautiful love story with a strong dose of reality, a relationship inexplicably turned sour and a narrator desperate to feel and give love but always sabotaging her own happiness. The poems are a bittersweet symphony that will make readers smile and their eyes water simultaneously.

While billed as a collection of short poems, Siddiqi’s work reads as one long, continuous poem. The subject matter is the same throughout with each poem pursuing a different part of the puzzle which is the narrator and her soulmate. One poem flows seamlessly into the next with only the line breaks to indicate the transition into a new poem. By fitting these poems together in such a manner, Siddiqi’s collection embodies the idea that every small piece of our lives affects every other small piece but, at the same time, we are more than just the sum of our parts.

These poems make for a very quick and easy read. In addition to being short, the poems use simple language that, when paired with the natural rhythm, is easy for even novice poetry readers to follow. For maximum effect, though, the entire collection should be read in one sitting and more than once. Only then will the messages and images fully sink in. Only then the readers will see how the poems connect and build upon each other.

Readers looking for a sense of completion in poetry might be disappointed with Siddiqi’s writing. While there is a sort of finality to the last lines of the last poem, Siddiqi ends the collection on a wish which may or may not ever occur. Without any sort of answer to this request or any real resolution for the narrator’s conflicting emotions, the poems never seem to truly end. Instead, they reverberate in a kind of echo which, much like Echo from Greek mythology, will go unanswered for all eternity.

Loving You by Atiya Rose Siddiqi is a must-read for poetry and tragedy lovers. Even those readers who are not too fond of traditional poetry will find something to enjoy in Siddiqi’s work. You will find no needlessly-complex language to get hung up on or any forced form to ruin the natural flow. Instead, you will be sucked in by the narrator’s love and heartache, connect with her, and keep reading in the hopes that she will someday find that person who loves her and whom she can love. Just be prepared for this poetry to stick with you long after you’ve finished reading.
