Australian Artist carves out new audience

One particular singer-songwriter, Mahmood Khan, is known as the first music artist from Pakistan to achieve mainstream success within the Australian music industry. Since arriving in Australia in 2007, Khan has been winning new fans with his unique music, a sound he began cultivating when he was a sound engineer in Los Angeles, California. Khan worked with some of the biggest high-profile artists in the industry, learning the ins and outs of genres like funk, hip hop, country and more.
Khan has found his niche in the Australian music world, beginning with his performance at the Sydney Opera House, which resulted in his beloved single, “Like a River.” Now Khan will share his gifts in a new Australian tour where he will continue to carve out a new audience. The tour begins May 17th at The Byron Theatre and May 27th at the Art House in Wyong and will let audiences, new and old, hear and feel the music that has touched so many.
