Press Release (ePRNews.com) - TORONTO - Feb 01, 2016 - ‘Brace For Impact’. Those three words marked the first chapter of a new life and a new direction for Dave Sanderson. He had never considered himself heroic, until that seemingly uneventful morning when US Airways flight1549 suddenly crashed into a frigid Hudson River shortly after take off. As the world watched, passengers disembarked onto the wings of the disabled plane, braving the icy waters at their feet. Waist-deep in water and suffering from hypothermia, Dave stayed on the plane until he made sure that everyone got to safety. The last passenger off the flight, Dave was credited a hero for helping his fellow passengers to safety, risking, and almost losing, his own life in the process. A lifetime of lessons flooded him in those moments, and it was in those moments, that something in him changed.
Moments Matter, written by Sanderson with Cindy Wrightson, details Dave’s close encounter with death and how one defining moment can create a lifetime of purpose. Readers will learn some of the lessons and life strategies that he and other passengers used that day to apply to their own lives when they face their “personal plane crash”. Despite the hazards to himself, Dave thought only of helping others and emerged from the wreckage with a mission: to encourage others to do the right thing.
Over the past seven years, Dave’s life has changed from Anthony Robbins’ Security Director to becoming the subject of a new documentary on heroes, a busy speaker who has generated over 7.5 million (USD) for the American Red Cross through his story, and even small role playing himself in the Christmas 2016 release of Clint Eastwood’s upcoming movie about the events that took place that day, titled Miracles on the Hudson.
Dave will be coming to Toronto to kick off his Canadian Book Launch and Media Tour; beginning with a book signing at Indigo Bay & Bloor on Wednesday February 17th from noon to 4pm.
Dave will then be speaking at an event hosted by the Toronto Chapter of eWomen Network at The National Club, 303 Bay St, on February 17th from 6pm-9pm. To register, visit eWomanNetwork (https://events.ewomennetwork.com/event/details.php?eid=22…).
