Press Release (ePRNews.com) - San Francisco, California - Jul 01, 2016 - Art With Impact (AWI) is excited to congratulate Briana Wernham for her film ‘Mental Health is Real‘, which recently became the 26th winning film in AWI’s OLIVE Film Collection. The short film depicts some of the unknown truths behind different types of mental illnesses and what life is like for those that live with them. It also marks the first Australian film team to have won the competition, and increases the diversity of AWI’s collection to now offer films from 7 different countries.
I want to thank AWI for giving people with a mental illness a chance to spread their thoughts and ideas, and a place where they wont be judged or seen as taboo.
A Film and Television student at Deakin University, this is Briana’s first winning film. An avid photographer with a love for ‘all things off beat and experimental’ Briana also lives with anxiety and values that AWI creates spaces for individuals to learn about mental health and expand their knowledge.
Art With Impact’s monthly film competition awards one winning filmmaker a $1,000 cash prize for a film — up to five minutes in length and of any genre — that uses mental health as the point of interest. Film topics may either be interpretive of mental health, or address it directly. Winning films are added to AWI’s diverse OLIVE film collection, which is used in educational outreach programs.
