Ahara Rasa Ghee was founded in 2012 by Andrea Shuman, a graduate of the California College of Ayurveda. Andrea practiced for 7 years as an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner in San Francisco and Portland. Over and over, she recommended that many of her clients eat ghee, to improve their digestion, energy and stamina among other things. Over time, she realized that her clients largely preferred buying ghee over making it, and she began selling ghee to clients.
In 2016 Andrea was joined by former classmate and Ayurvedic Practitioner, Martin Lemke, in her efforts to make the world a more buttery place.
Ahara Rasa Ghee is committed to traditional rendering of pure ghee. We slow cook, over open flame, in small batches so that the ghee tastes and smells delicious and gives your body optimum benefit.
Our Spiced ghees are a great way to add healthy fats, and great flavor to simple food. Allowing you to maintain a clean diet without sacrificing taste. Our flavors are: Traditional Desi, Beurre Noisette (Paleo style brown butter), Bulb & Rind (Lemon Garlic), Gold Star (Turmeric Black Pepper), Niter Kibbeh (Ethiopian Style ghee), Vanilla Dream (Pure Vanilla Bean) and Hot Date (Medjool Dates soaked in spiced ghee).
