Press Release ( - Oldham, Manchester, United Kingdom - Aug 25, 2017 - Cat-A-Tonic Limited, provider of Oldham’s first cat themed café, has announced it will be hosting a special “cat-day” for students every Saturday from next week (September 2nd) at its premises at 49 Union Street, Oldham.

Working with students in Oldham it aims to provide the ideal place for them to converge each week and experience the unique experience and ambience that a café with cats can provide.

“Speaking from experience I know the start of the college year is a special time full of hope and excitement,” said Christine Rooney, CEO of Cat-A-Tonic Limited, “So there is no better time to celebrate the start of the new academic year in this novel way. It will offer something unique and a great place to meet and talk to your fellow students and cats in a relaxed atmosphere. We all can’t wait for it to start.”

Azim Uddin from Oldham Sixth Form College and Amina Nessa who has now left the college to attend university this autumn will be co-ordinating the effort for Cat-A-Tonic. “It is going to be a superb place to go every Saturday,” said Azim “I know from visiting the café many times that the cats are very customer friendly and it will be a great place to visit. On “College Caturday” students will be given extra benefits such as a 2 for price of 1 admission and extended times beyond the usual 60 minutes. As places are likely to be limited, I would urge students to go online at the Cat-A-Tonic website and pre-book as early as possible”

Prices for admission per ticket on “College Caturday” will be £9 online at or £10 walk-ins (subject to availability) with a 2 people admitted for 1 payment concession.

Christine Rooney launched her first Cat-A-Tonic café in Oldham this June – a themed café where cats can be watched and played with – building on a concept started nearly 20 years ago in Taiwan and Japan. Oldham’s café is the first one to be opened in a northern UK town.
