Press Release (ePRNews.com) - KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. - Apr 11, 2018 - Cathy Carroll, who started on her path by joining the Navy after a year in college, has completed her new book, “Pull Back on Your Power”: a resonant, meaningful autobiography that traces the author’s impressive career, highlighting the supportive and life-saving support and guidance she received along the way.
Cathy shares, “During World War II, P-38s practiced dogfights over our farm in Central Oklahoma. I used to sit on my little flatbed wagon my brothers had made for me. My eyes riveted on the air show above. Using the wagon tongue like an aircraft control stick, I would go through all the maneuvers of the P-38s as they rehearsed for war. I knew how these maneuvers were performed, you see because I had watched Clark Gable, John Wayne, and other ‘war heroes’ as they struggled through flight school in the movies. Many years later when I decided air traffic control would be my vocation, it seemed that a pilot’s license would be more advantageous than a college degree, not to mention more fun.”
Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Cathy Carroll’s new book presents in plainspoken wisdom and graciousness the people and the wisdom that has helped her along in her journey, all of which will resonate with practicality for the reader, no matter their chosen vocation in life.
Carroll names her book after a life-saving piece of advice from a flight instructor who told her to “pull back on your power and let go of the stick” when the airplane is out of control, enabling the aircraft to fly itself. The themes and lessons in this engaging memoir tie together to present a satisfying whole that celebrates a high-flying life and its supporting heroes.
Readers can purchase, “Pull Back on Your Power” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.
