Press Release ( - SARASOTA, Fla. - Apr 07, 2020 - When the Independent Packaging Association held its annual conference in February, one of the highlights was a presentation from Crownhill Packaging Ltd. on the need for packaging innovations for e-commerce. The event, held in Irving, Texas, brought together subject matter experts, marketers and suppliers – including representatives from major brands like Hershey and Vera Bradley – to explore in-depth how to best succeed in the online marketplace.

Olivia Pietersen, Crownhill’s e-commerce business manager and a digital marketing trainer for PDA, went in-depth with conference attendees on customer buying patterns and their e-commerce pain points, ineffective packaging, and opportunities for customization, eco-friendly products, protection, and brand-building in packaging. She is known by her peers as an e-commerce packaging disruptor and leads an ongoing seminar for Packaging Distributors of America members called, Digital Marketing in Packaging – a role that earned her the organization’s 2018 President’s Award.

“Considering that online shoppers spent over $585 billion last year alone, Olivia’s presentation was especially relevant.
