Press Release (ePRNews.com) - Miami, FL - Aug 13, 2016 - A debate between Democratic candidates for the 23rd District of Florida Congressional District is scheduled at 8 am Sunday, August 14, 2016 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Tim Canova will be sparring on CBS4’s “Facing South Florida with Jim DeFede”.
The show is normally scheduled for 30 minutes which was the preference of Wasserman Schultz. Debates are rarely that brief, proving once again that Wasserman Schultz is trying to stay under the radar and hide from voters. Debbie Wasserman Schultz just wanted 15 minutes to debate between commercial segements! However, Tim Canova disagreed and continued to push for an hour to ensure all issues were covered.
Wasserman Schultz has not faced a primary challenge since 2004, when she won her first race for the U.S. House of Representatives. It has been a liberal-leaning district where people get riled up by Debbie’s statements on any mention of reforming Social Security or Medicare to make them more solvent. The Democrat who wins the Aug. 30 primary gets to compete in the Nov. 8th general election.
Canova has been trying for months to schedule a debate, accusing Wasserman Schultz of dodging him and avoiding public scrutiny. After succeeding in scheduling the 1 hour debate, Canova said, “After four months of dodging debates and running scared, Wasserman Schultz has finally agreed to debates. We were hoping for at least three 2-hour debates, but for the time being, this will have to suffice.”
Canova also said in a statement that he had agreed to a debate on Michael Putney’s “This Week in South Florida,” which airs on WPLG-Channel 10 on Sunday mornings. Wasserman Schultz’s spokesman, Ryan Banfill, said on Thursday that Putney renewed his ongoing offer to host a debate. Putney told the Herald he asked Debbie Wasserman Schultz Thursday about debating on his show and she told him she would debate on CBS4.
“She is focused on Sunday on CBS4,” Banfill said. “Sunday is the day.”
This will be streamed on http://miami.cbslocal.com/ and facebook.com/CBSMiami. 8:00 a.m. to 900 a.m.
As former DNC chair, Debbie “Blabbermouth” Schultz’ actions destroyed any chance of Bernie Sanders winning the Democratic nomination for President. Has the 23rd District of Florida primary become as rigged and corrupt as Debbie Wasserman Schultz made the DNC nomination push for Hillary Clinton? Why should Democrats even trust her enough to vote for her in the August 30 primary when she continues to sabotage the elections?
