Trump won the race with over 5,85,83,078 votes, compared to 5,83,62,755 votes for Hillary Clinton at the 95% reporting time. Mr. Trump thanks the constituents, his parents, sisters, brother, late brother. And, his wife, Melania.
At a small gathering at the Hilton Hotel in midtown in city New York, the Trump team was hilarious. Even reactionary supporters did not see so definitive a win coming. People screamed with joy as results came in and the networks called states for Trump.
Earlier he addressed a gathering saying, ‘I congratulated Hillary for a hard fought campaign, we owe her a debt of gratitude. Time to bind the wounds, come together’, he says.
He said it’s “time for us to come together,” pledges to be president “for all Americans.” He tells them ‘we will renew the American dream’ and promises to put ‘millions of our people to work as we rebuild this country.’ He asserts that while the campaign is over, ‘our work on this new movement is really beginning.’
Prior to his declaration, Trump vows to ‘deal fairly’ with other nations – He describes a ‘national project of renewal’. He states he will gather the best and brightest and will double the growth; and have the strongest economy in the world.
Trump’s sounds echoed, ‘America will no longer settle for anything less than the best. We must reclaim our country’s destiny, and dream big, and bold and daring. I want to tell the world community that while we will always put America’s interests foremost, we will deal fairly with every person. And now, I would like to take this moment to thank some of the people who really helped me.
‘Working together, we will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation, I have got to know our country so well’ he added. Trump’s victory is Tremendous potential, every single American will have the ability to realize his potential.
Markets reaction over the race:
The US dollar sank and stock markets slammed into reverse in wild Asian trade prior to the victory of Trump, sending investors stampeding to safe-haven assets. Sovereign bonds and gold shot higher while the Mexican peso went into near free-fall as investors faced the certainty of a Trump win. The Nikkei is down 2.77%, ASX by 1.34%, Kopsi in Seoul by 1.64% and Hang Sen by 1.88%. Dow Futures is down by more 600 points. The Mexican Peso has dropped in value by around 7%, its sharpest fall in 20 years.
Nifty ends below 8450, Sensex recovers 1300 points post Trump win.
