Fayetteville Roundtable to Discuss Roadmap for Creating Holistic Support Programs for Local Military Veterans

Press Release (ePRNews.com) - FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Jan 16, 2020 - Local military veteran-serving organizations are gathering for the Fayetteville Roundtable, a discussion of best practices for proactively and holistically serving local veterans, their families and caregivers. Attendees will participate in resource mapping exercises and panel discussions tailored to the unique situations facing veterans in the Fayetteville area, which hosts one of the largest military and veteran populations in the country. The event will occur at Fayetteville Technical Community College on Thursday, Jan. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. EST.

The Fayetteville Roundtable was made possible by local family-owned restaurant chain Biscuitville Fresh Southern®, which raised the funds to support the event by participating in Patriot’s Pour, a cause-marketing program managed by national nonprofit America’s Warrior Partnership. To facilitate knowledge sharing between local, regional and national experts, America’s Warrior Partnership is co-hosting the event with regional veteran-serving organization NCServes Central Carolina.

“With Fort Bragg and Pope Army Airfield nearby, we often welcome guests who either are – or are connected to – a veteran or active-duty service member,” said Kristie Mitchell, VP of Brand and Marketing at Biscuitville. “These men and women have provided an incredible service to our country, and we are proud to honor them with this roundtable, which will fuel the growth of impactful veteran support programs in Fayetteville.”

The event is intended to bring together all resource providers within the Fayetteville community that support veterans to share best practices and build stronger connections. Collaboration at the local level is the key to improving the lives of all veterans, family members and caregivers in their community. Speakers will include:

  • Paul Berry, Network Director for NCServes Central Carolina
  • Mark Patton, Administrator for Community BluePrint
  •  Crystal Miller, Field Operations Managers for the North Carolina Department of Military  and Veterans Affairs
  • LaTonia Mckoy, Pathfinder Site Manager for USO of North Carolina

“Community organizations intimately understand the veterans they serve, but they may not have the access to the resources or partnerships they need to holistically support these veterans,” said Jim Lorraine, president and CEO of America’s Warrior Partnership. “The goal of this event is for every veteran-serving organization in Fayetteville to walk away knowing who to call when a veteran’s need cannot be met with in-house. We applaud Biscuitville’s proactive initiative in seeking out an impactful way to support the veteran community through sponsoring this event, and we thank our partners at NCServes Central Carolina for coordinating an outstanding lineup of speakers.”
