Press Release (ePRNews.com) - Seattle, WA - Feb 09, 2017 - The American Cribbage Congress and card players throughout the country will be celebrating National Cribbage Day on Friday, February 10, 2017.

Cribbage is one of the oldest frequently played card games. The game was created by Sir John Suckling in the early 17th century, and is derived from the old English game “noddy.”

Although the exact date that cribbage was created is lost to history, we celebrate National Cribbage Day on Suckling’s birthday, February 10.

Millions of Americans of all ages play cribbage with their families at home or with friends at bars and social clubs. The most common variant played is with two players, and score is kept on a cribbage board with pegs and 121 holes.

The American Cribbage Congress is the governing body of cribbage, runs local clubs and tournaments, and maintains a national ranking system. More information can be found at www.cribbage.org.
