Press Release (ePRNews.com) - Brussels, Belgium - May 09, 2016 - Wishing to answer the question, “What is Scientology?,” some twenty Flemish Catholic secondary school students and their teachers arrived at the Churches of Scientology for Europe in Brussels for a lecture on the beliefs and practices of the religion.
The seminar leader set the tone with a quote from The Way to Happiness, a nonreligious moral code written by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard:
“What you observe is what you observe. Look at things and life and others directly, not through any cloud of prejudice, curtain of fear or the interpretation of another.”
“See what you see, not what someone tells you that you see.
“What you observe is what you observe. Look at things and life and others directly, not through any cloud of prejudice, curtain of fear or the interpretation of another.
“Instead of arguing with others, get them to look. The most flagrant lies can be punctured, the greatest pretenses can be exposed, the most intricate puzzles can resolve, the most remarkable revelations can occur simply by gently insisting that someone look.”
The students watched video presentations on the basic beliefs and practices of the religion.
First was a brief biographical overview of the life of Mr. Hubbard, followed by several videos on basic Scientology beliefs.
And as the students specifically expressed interest in the Church’s humanitarian activities the seminar also covered these: The Truth About Drugs drug prevention program; United for Human Rights and its human rights education activities; The Way to Happiness Foundation that uplifts society by encouraging people to apply the book’s 21 precepts for a more moral, decent and happier life; and the Scientology Volunteer Ministers, on call to respond to disasters great and small.
This was followed by a question and answer session.
Finally, the students were invited to tour the Church’s Public Information Center, where they could chose from hundreds of additional videos on the topics that interested them most.
On leaving, each student was presented with two DVDs—one on Dianetics:The Modern Science of Mental Health, the seminal work published by Mr. Hubbard 66 years ago, and Scientology an Overview.
