FlightHub and JustFly on Planning the Perfect Trip to Paris

Press Release (ePRNews.com) - SEATTLE - Dec 23, 2019 - Welcome to Paris, where tourists take evening walks through the City of Lights, enjoy haute couture, feast on fine dining and more—all while misunderstanding every word. It’s one of the most visited cities in the world. The art scene is always lively. Its fashion, gastronomy and culture are world-renowned.

FlightHub and JustFly help travelers plan the perfect trip to Paris with the travel tips below.

Gather Important Documents:

Making sure documents are valid is an often overlooked but all too important part of any trip. Getting a new passport can take several weeks, even with a rush order (more fees). Ideally, a passport should be valid for at least six months after the stated return date.

Money Matters:

Want the best out of a trip to Paris? One word: budget. The French capital is notorious for its high costs. A good budget helps people save whenever possible. Book the cheapest flight available. Choose budget accommodations. Visit during April to June or October and the beginning of November for good prices and smaller crowds. Manage expectations and enjoy the experience.

Build an Itinerary:

One does not simply plan a trip to Paris without an itinerary. Like most things in life, itineraries are about balance. Those who plan too much return home dissatisfied and overwhelmed. On the other hand, those who don’t plan enough miss out on all Paris has to offer. The list below is a good starting point.

1. Eiffel Tower:

At nearly 1,100 ft, it’s one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world. Everyone’s read about it in books or seen it on TV and in the movies. But nothing compares to seeing the real thing up close.

3. Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris:

History and design aficionados dream of visiting this cathedral. And it’s easy to see why. The Cathédral Notre-Dame de Paris is French Gothic architecture personified. Statues, ancient relics, exhibits and more. Any good trip to Paris should include a visit to this cathedral.

7. Palace of Versailles:

18th-century European wealth and luxury have never looked quite like this. The Palace of Versailles is more than a museum. It was also previously home to French royals. Most travelers may never be this rich, but here, they can pretend for a short while.

8. Musée d’Orsay:

9. Jardin du Luxembourg:

Not many parks in Paris (if any at all) are as plainly beautiful as the Luxembourg Gardens. It’s the sort of place that comes to mind when people think of lavish English garden parties. Paris is a buzzing city. For those who wish to slow things down for a little while, this is the place to be.

10. Jardin des Tuileries:

When visiting the Louvre, tourists can cross two things off their to-do lists by visiting the nearby Jardin des Tuileries too. These gardens are nearing 500 years old. Take a stroll around the massive open space. Sit and read a book on one of the benches. Have a snack. Strike up a conversation. C’est facile (it’s easy)!

Book a Flight:

This is where most people spend the bulk of their travel budget. Save as much as possible by booking a month or two ahead. Don’t forget to factor in for seasonality too. Use budget airlines, reward programs, indirect flights, extended layovers and more.

Book Accommodations and Transport:

Booking the best accommodation is about two things: cost and location. Balance is key. Also, book near a cluster of attractions whenever possible. This saves time and money.

For anyone planning to drive, a valid driver’s license is a must. Consider buying a Paris Visite, Mobilis or even a Navigo pass. They can be purchased for multiple bus and subway station uses for several days.

Get Travel Insurance:

The importance of travel insurance should never be understated. That said, not all travel insurances are created equally. There are several major insurance companies offering an array of insurance types. Travelers should make choices based on their specific needs for each trip. But never leave the country without it.

Tie Up Loose Ends at Home:

Avoid the last-minute stress of being disorganized. Set aside lead time to alert financial institutions of travel, find sitters (babysitters, pet-sitters, house-sitters), get international data coverage, exchange currency etc. It’s not sexy but doing it in advance is always best.

Pack:

Make a packing list and pack luggage at least a few days ahead. There’s no such thing as being too prepared. This also leaves time to remember any important items that may have been forgotten.

Note: Look up what the weather’s going to be like during the trip. It makes the packing process easier and more efficient.

Paris has enough places to see and activities to do for a lifetime. But having a clear and realistic plan makes it possible for travelers to see the city with little to no stress. Use FlightHub and JustFly’s planning and activity guide to make the best of this unique European location.
