Press Release (ePRNews.com) - THAME, England - May 16, 2016 - Hello reader. My name is Manoj Parmar. I am an ex (1st Class) cricket professional from 1990-2001 in India. I played professional cricket in Scotland before setting up a Cricket Academy in Oxfordshire.
MP Sports Cricket Academy is based in Station Yard, Thame. We organise Junior Cricket coaching sessions and fun courses designed to encourage children to enjoy sport for life. As an ECB level 3 Coach, I have been working alongside schools throughout England and Wales (and also around the globe) for over 32 years.
When I was growing up in India, I collected newspaper cuttings about matches played at Lord’s Cricket ground (especially England v Australia when Her Majesty shakes hands with each and every player). That level of passion is passed onto all the children we meet and teach in the Oxfordshire area. However, we would like to reach more non active children and their families by holding a Thame Town cricket match as part of Her Majesty’s birthday celebrations.
This is not a normal game of cricket… the town centre will be closed so that the match can take place right in the middle of the stunning medieval High Street!
The High Street will be closed to traffic from 4.30pm and the event will be opened at 6.15pm with a live Steel Band and at 6.30pm by John Howell MP and Linda Emery the town Mayor.
· 6:15pm Live Steel Band
· 6:30pm The first bowl will be bowled by the Thame Mayor, Linda Emery – to Thame’s local MP, John Howell
· 6:40pm – 7:30pm Under 10’s match run by Manoj Parmar
· 7:30pm – 8:30pm 10 to 15 year olds match run by Manoj Parmar
· 8:30pm – 8:45pm Sky High Catches
· 8:45pm – 9:00pm Distribution of certificates to winning children

You are of course, invited to come along… This is an incredible feat of uniting the town and its residents on a day that their Monarch turns 90 – the event has taken an enormous amount of logistics and could only happen via the support of many businesses and local organisations (thank you!)
All Thame residents and people from around the county that attend will be watching, playing and learning about cricket… as we deliver 90 NOT OUT to everyone celebrating our Queen and a great game of cricket!
