Press Release (ePRNews.com) - CHICAGO - Feb 27, 2019 - Students across the nation have been putting their spelling skills to the test in Word Mania USA for the chance to win up to $10,000 in prizes.
Word Mania USA is an online spelling competition created by LiteracyPlanet, an award-winning English literacy (language arts) education program. In each competition game, students create as many words as they can in three minutes from 15 randomly generated letter tiles.
The competition is free to enter for any student in the United States from Grades 1 to 9. And it’s more than just a spelling bee. Word Mania USA challenges students to think outside the box, developing crucial literacy skills while their scores improve an average of 36 percent.
LiteracyPlanet CEO Adam McArthur said: “The response from U.S. schools to Word Mania has been very encouraging. We now have schools and school districts from all 50 states participating in this fun competition that has been proven to build core literacy skills.”

Schools have until March 1 to complete their registration.
The competition round will then run from March 4–8. The top-performing schools when then qualify for the Final Round from March 13–15 and have the chance to win up to $10,000 in prizes.
