Virtual Reality Renovation

The City Series Virtual Reality (VR) Experience offers a glimpse into the future of fireplace renovation and design. Developed to showcase the versatility of City Series designer gas fireplaces (, the experience takes place on the main floor of a residential house. A total of four unique fireplace designs are revealed throughout the experience, which is guided by the voice of a digital assistant reminiscent of Alexa/Google Home. Robert Little, Founder of Regency Fireplace Products says VR technology holds “great promise” as an application within the hearth industry.  “Architects and designers are already starting to adopt VR technologies in their practices. We look forward to speaking with hearth industry retailers and consumers at HPBExpo to help inform the development of future Regency virtual reality projects and tools”.  Little notes the continued popularity of Regency’s online Fireplace Design Center (FDC) at, an interactive fireplace design tool used by dealers and consumers. Parallel to its venture into virtual reality, Regency has been working behind the scenes to release an updated version the company’s FDC center for summer 2018. When asked if consumers might see a virtual reality component within the new FDC, Little says the company will be listening to its dealer phbfd network to inform development, adding “anything is possible”. Consumers who own a virtual reality mobile headset will be able to experience Regency’s virtual reality project online and share feedback at starting March 25, 2018.
