Press Release (ePRNews.com) - CHICAGO - Sep 14, 2017 - We are announcing Glass For Life, a special auction to benefit the victims of the devastating Hurricanes Harvey & Irma. This auction is a way for collectors to combine their love of the art of glass paperweights with their compassion for our fellow man.
This 48-hour auction will take place on our Facebook event page beginning Saturday, September 16th at 10am and ending Monday, September 18th at 10am.
Bids received after 10am on Monday will not be considered.
Paperweight artists across the nation have united to generously donate fine artworks in support of their fellow Americans for an auction that has the potential to help feed, house and provide medical assistance to our fellow Americans, many of whom have lost everything, including loved ones.
It is the caring artists themselves, offering their weights for this special event. Photographs and details are provided by the artists. The artists have set the starting bids, which also serve as the reserve, notably lower than usual. All questions about the paperweights will be directed to the artists.
To preview the paperweights available in this auction, click on GLASS FOR LIFE.
The highest bid after 48 hours will win the weight. There will be no “jump bids” or “proxy bids” allowed in this auction. Phone bids will be facilitated by L.H. Selman. For full transparency, phone bids will be posted by L.H. Selman and will include the bidder’s first & last name along with their bid.
The charities selected by artists are listed on each lot, with some giving the choice to the winning bidder (i.e. CERF+, UNICEF, Pearl weru Fincher Museum of Fine Arts and The American Red Cross).
Successful bidders will send payments directly to the charity. Winners will also provide the artist with evidence of payment, such as a photocopy of the receipt. A separate check of $20.00 is to be made directly to the artist to defray shipping costs. Shipping details will be agreed upon between the artist and the high bidder. The artist will ship the weight directly to the winner. All sales are final. Any official forms for donation or other acknowledgment will need to be supplied by the receiving charity.
Please call us with any further questions.
