Press Release (ePRNews.com) - SINGAPORE - Oct 23, 2016 - Incentive, Conference & Event Society Asia Pacific (ICESAP) President Nigel Gaunt has announced that since its formation just over three years ago, a key objective has been the introduction of a professional accreditation program specifically designed for Asia Pacific based Incentive Conference & Event (IC&E) agency organisations.
At the forthcoming ICESAP Conference to be held in Singapore November 30 to December 2 the vision will become reality with the official launch of the ICESAP Agency Accreditation Program.
Commenting further on the announcement, Nigel Gaunt said the Agency Accreditation Program has been established in direct response to requests from members for an IC&E sector and regional specific designation.
“It was an immensely encouraging sign that ICESAP members recognised the need for such a designation that offers an ‘excellent opportunity’ for those agencies seeking to demonstrate their expertise, professionalism and dedication to the highest standards of best practice and governance in the IC&E sector”, said Nigel Gaunt.
“ICESAP also recognised there was a fundamental barrier to long term growth and prosperity for the sector; a lack of self-governance by the intermediary agencies in the industry, with no barrier to entry, no code of conduct, no probity checks or capability checks on agency owners, managers or staff”.
Earlier this year, Singapore based Tom Monahan was appointed as ICESAP Chairman – Compliance to oversee the development of the ICESAP Agency Accreditation Program.
Since taking on the role Tom Monahan has consulted extensively with members, industry stakeholders, IC&E organisations as well as legal, accounting and insurance consultants to ensure the Accreditation initiative would meet ICESAP’s high level objectives and expectations.
“We are all aware that the service and professionalism of IC&E practitioners can vary significantly and often the best are lumped in with the mediocre” said Tom Monahan.
“ICESAP Agency Accreditation is being launched to provide a means by which we can raise standards, lift the profile and appreciation of the sector, improve agency performance and provide reassurance to clients”.
“Accreditation will undoubtedly give ICESAP member agencies and practitioners a positive image and advantage – and in doing so, ranking them with the best in the IC&E industry”.
Nigel Gaunt says the need and importance of incentives conferences and events is growing markedly each year as organisations bring their people together to achieve their individual corporate objectives.
With so much at stake, it is critical that corporate procurement managers access and utilise quality advice and service they can trust. The best way to ensure this for ICESAP members is the Agency Accreditation Program,
