I know how to recognize a good caregiver. I have been one myself for almost five years.
Ms. Barros is the Founder of Coup 2 Mains NYC LLC, a Manhattan-based employment agency that helps match New York families with nannies, housekeepers, baby nurses, and babysitters. She was inspired to start her business because of her own experience working as a nanny while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree. “I know how to recognize a good caregiver,” said Ms. Barros. “I have been one myself for almost five years.”
“We believe finding someone to join a family and meet the family’s expectations and qualities can be challenging,” it says on the company’s website. “This is where Coup 2 Main comes in handy. We are here to help you find your dream nanny or your dream housekeeper so you can start saying ‘YES’ to late night dinners, attend to all your parent-teacher conferences, and have some time for yourself without any guilt.”
Using her skills in management, finance, sales, and communication (she speaks four languages, including English, French, Wolof and Haitian Creole), Ms. Barros oversees every aspect of Coup 2 Mains NYC LLC. She ensures all regulations are met and all members attain the highest standards of professionalism. “I go deep into getting to know the person before making any recommendation to families,” she said. “I care a lot about integrity and professionalism. I try my best to meet with the caregivers as much as possible. I do background checks and look at their social media presence.”
Ms. Barros is very confident about the future and plans to take on more clients and continue to grow her company.
