As she honed her skills in project management and client-relationship, Ms. Tselekis also became interested in social issues. “I grew up in a small mining town where my family owned a business and experienced first-hand how changes in highways systems, new large business entrants and decreased demand for coal, affected the health, well-being and economic standing of an entire community,” she said. Ms. Tselekis went on to pursue a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School and eventually began consulting in the public sector where she was able to use her skills to address social concerns.

For the past two years, Ms. Tselekis has held the position of Principal at Grant Thornton LLC, leading its account for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. “I am responsible for driving a vision where Grant Thornton can provide high impact and high value to our clients so that they may benefit America’s Veterans,” she said. “It is most rewarding to truly be able to help a client, a team or an employee to succeed,” she said. “I enjoy creative problem solving and it can be challenging.” As she works toward her ultimate long-term/retirement goal of teaching and writing, Ms. Tselekis will strive to increase her leadership skills and attain a role where she has higher strategic organizational impact. “I also hope to volunteer with an organization that provides more direct social impact,” she added.
