International Peace Delegates Hold Press Conference at National Press Club

Press Release (ePRNews.com) - WASHINGTON - Jun 03, 2018 - Chairman Man Hee Lee of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) and members of the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) and International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) spoke at a press conference at the National Press Club on Saturday to discuss the peace work they have been doing while in D.C., and to encourage everyone to become messengers of peace. More than 100 reporters, panelists, peace volunteers, and youth were in attendance.

Chairman Lee called for us to become one in this work of peace. “Before I introduce myself, I first want to plead to you,” he said. “Let us become messengers of peace together.”

Chairman Lee was asked “What makes HWPL unique in the work to accomplish peace between North and South Korea, and globally?” Without hesitation, Chairman Lee responded with speculation, hope, and certainty. He said, “Firstly, we must all become one family under the cause of peace. We must all become messengers of peace. We can’t wait for someone else to put in this effort.”

However, what is most important, we must actually proclaim peace on earth and have the answer and solution to that.

He continued to ruminate on the fact that though Korea split into North and South Korea, “there has been a work of restoration to the world.” Chairman Lee calls for the Korean Peninsula to become one.

He asked the audience, “Why is North and South divided?” He continued, saying, “Our country suffered so much pain and went through trouble. If you haven’t got through it, you wouldn’t understand how devastating the war was. The citizens must first work for a world of peace. They are pointing guns toward one another, as brothers and sisters.”

Chairman Lee, along with IWPG chairwoman and IPYG general manager, discussed their work at the U.N. earlier this week, where they met with over 140 ambassadors and heads of state regarding their work to implement the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), an innovative legal framework to create a culture of peace. They also discussed their organizations’ overall mission for peace, and how residents of D.C. should take part in this work of peace.”

“There are those whose lives have been taken,” said Hyun Sook Yoon, the director of IWPG HQ in South Korea. “I believe together we can be strong. We must stand for women and children in a world without war. We are working to establish the DPCW, and in order for that to happen, we need to pass a resolution.”

At 87 years old, Chairman Lee has been tirelessly doing this work of peace for decades. Presidents should learn from former presidents, “their upperclassmen”, and meet with Chairman Lee to work together for peace for our future generations.

“Transcending nationality, religion and border we must have the heart of peace,” Chairman Lee said.

“However, what is most important, we must actually proclaim peace on earth and have the answer and solution to that.”
