Press Release (ePRNews.com) - MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - Apr 05, 2016 - Jonathan Hood, at Ahead of the Game in Mississauga and former CFL athlete will be honored by District 86 Toastmasters of Ontario for his achievement in the field of communication and leadership. The event will be held at the district’s semi annual conference April 23 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Meadowvale, in Mississauga.
“Communication is the glue that holds every team, group, individual and organization together. It is the link that connects us and allows us to grow,” says Hood.
Hood’s communication achievements include founding the Ahead of the Game mentorship program in which he and his team of facilitators have served over 1000 young people. The program helps to empower youth and promote positive change.
“Jonathan’s passion for the game transcends the playing field and extends to life in general. He has always demonstrated continued commitment to his team and his community both on and off the field, making him an excellent choice to receive the 2016 District 86 Communication and Leadership Award,” says Cathy Herschell, Public Relations Manager for District 86.
The Toastmasters’ Communication and Leadership Award is for a non-Toastmasters member, someone outside a Toastmasters club, either in the community or an organization-a distinguished individual in the fields of communication or leadership. About Jonathan Hood
Jonathan Hood is a former CFL athlete, motivational speaker, youth mentor, and corporate goal coach.
Jonathan began his professional football career with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2009. Later, he went on to play for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2010, and finally the Toronto Argonauts in 2013. He retired in May of 2015 and has since been focused on shifting his on-field experiences to developing and inspiring people off the field.
