(Hong Kong, 7 November 2016) – Modeled after a traditional French villa with a beautiful courtyard in Wan Chai’s Star Street precinct, Maison ES offers a break from Hong Kong’s metropolitan pace, allowing guests to relax and enjoy all the finer things in life. As the holidays nears, Maison ES invites its guests and their loved ones to eat, drink and be merry as the restaurant rolls out a sumptuous feast to celebrate the festive season.

For the occasion, Chef Esther Sham has designed a 6-Course Christmas Tasting Menu and a 6-Course New Year’s Eve Tasting Menu. Both combine French culinary finesse with the finest ingredients sourced from all across the globe. Guests can enjoy delicacies such as Hokkaido scallops, Australian Wagyu beef and French langoustine – all prepared and plated in fresh and innovative new ways.

The Christmas Tasting Menu (HK$880 per person, subject to 10% service charge) kicks off with a glass of Chambord and Champagne for every guest. The apéritif is followed by a refreshing Hokkaido Scallop with Tomato, Lemon Grass and Crab Foam, or the sophisticated starter of Oscietra Caviar served with Blinis and Classic Condiments. Next, guests can enjoy a delectably rich Foie Gras with Hazelnut, Chocolate and Cranberry Sauce, followed by tender Sous-Vide Salmon and Garlic Potato Velouté, Scented with Pine Leaf. After a Mandarin Sorbet palate cleanser, guests can choose one of three entrées, including Roasted French Baby Turkey Breast and Thigh Roulade with Potimarron Squash, Brussel Sprouts and Natural Jus; an unctuous Slow-Cooked Australian Wagyu Beef Cheek with Black Truffles, Parsnip Purée and Baby Carrots; or the Pan-Seared Half Boston Lobster with Asparagus and Shellfish Reduction. Last but not least are two Christmas desserts—a “Mushroom House” made of Raspberry Mousse and Nougat Parfait with Chocolate Soil, and a selection of Homemade Cookies to round off the meal.

Guests who join us on New Year’s Eve can enjoy an equally special 6-Course Tasting Menu (HK$880 per person, subject to 10% service charge).

After a round of Chambord and Champagne, tuck into Tuna Crudo and Uni, Hickory Scented, or Oscietra Caviar served with Blinis and Condiments. The tasting menu follows with a refreshing Alaskan Crab Meat with, Grapefruit Jelly and Yuzu Foam infused with Wasabi. The countdown continues with Homemade Tagliolini with Smoked Eel and Foie Gras Sauce followed by a Blood Orange Sorbet to cleanse the palate before the main act. Guests then have a choice between three delicious entrées. Seafood aficionados can go for the Poached Line-Caught Sea Bass in Olive Oil served with Fricassee of Half Langoustine, Zucchini and Shellfish Jus. Those looking for something heartier should try the Pan-Fried Wagyu Beef Sirloin with Truffle Mash, Baby Carrots and Thyme Sauce. Finally, for a truly indulgent way to ring in the New Year, go for the Roasted Half Boston Lobster with Herb Butter and Baby Greens. Whichever entrée you choose, end the meal on a sweet note with the Dessert Medley of Hazelnut & Chocolate and Petit Four.
