The documentary focuses on the life and basketball journey of LA native, Schea Cotton. Cotton now is bringing the private piece to Toronto during one of the biggest basketball events of the year, NBA All Star Weekend.
The Los Angeles screener packed all 3 viewing rooms at the historical Charlie Chaplin theatre on Melrose Ave. NBA stars Paul Pierce and Metta World Peace were in attendance. Both basketball icons sat on the exclusive 30-minute Q & A, following the private documentary showing.
Viewers laughed, cried and continuously applauded throughout the showing, which left them in awe of the documentary. The Artru Media Group film is presented by Slam Dunk Media in association with Hart 2 Heart Media Group. The 78-minute storyline depicts all stages of Cotton’s journey beginning basketball at the age of 11. It has created a buzz around the country and has recently been submitted to Tribeca and Hot Docs Film festivals, amongst many.

Schea Cotton, born May 20, 1978 in Los Angeles, California, is currently the CEO of the Schea Cotton Basketball Academy (SCBA) and spends a lot of his time sharing his story in hopes to inspire the youth. He spent most of his younger years in the Los Angeles Harbor area of San Pedro, California as an athletic young boy with big dreams. Cotton made a name for himself in the basketball world beginning in the 6th grade.
