Press Release (ePRNews.com) - DARWIN, Australia - Apr 18, 2016 - In a long-term agreement with the Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife Commission, Nautilus Aviation will be based at Charles Darwin National Park, just five kilometres from the Territory capital.
Nautilus Aviation currently operates one of the most comprehensive fleets in Queensland and has bases in Townsville, Cairns, Horn Island and Mt Isa offering a full range of commercial and tourism services.
Aaron Finn, chief executive officer of Nautilus Aviation, said the company was delighted to have been selected by the Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife Commission, based on its national and international reputation, as the preferred park-based operator to conduct scenic flights in the Darwin region.
From next month Nautilus Aviation will offer a series of flight options taking in the Charles Darwin National Park, Darwin waterfront precinct and other Territory landmarks.
“We are looking forward to working with the local Larrakia people to establish cultural tourism opportunities in the region and our staff will undertake Cross – Cultural training with Larrakia Nation to ensure we offer the most informative and respective tour we possibly can.
“We provide similar experiences out of Cairns, where we partner with the Daintree Eco Lodge and the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people.”
Charles Darwin National Park is located five kilometres south-east of Darwin city. The park offers bush walking and cycling on its many trails, modern barbecue facilities and lookouts with spectacular views to Darwin city and the harbour.
“Our scenic tours will vary in length to cater for all individuals and groups, including those in tour buses on tight timetables, ensuring ample time to explore Australia’s famous northern city from above.
Guests will also have the opportunity to explore all facets of the park, from its ecologically important mangroves to Indigenous shell middens, the visitor centre and World War II military bunkers,” Mr Finn said.
“The choice of panoramic flights in our air conditioned, EC120 will enable visitors to gain an exceptional perspective on this diverse region irrespective of time or budget constraints.”
“Nautilus Aviation looks forward to working with Tourism NT and other local tour providers to develop new products, which we can take to the world stage at industry tourism events and do our part in showcasing Darwin and the Northern Territory and the best it has to offer.”
Nautilus Aviation’s expansion into Darwin follows the November launch of its Mt Isa operation, which offers aerial work services in north-west Queensland and the Northern Territory.
It currently offers everything from surveys and sling operations to search and rescue, firefighting, mining support and emergency services.
