New Cummins powered R2.8l Diesel Land Cruiser Unveiled At SEMA
Cummins Repower and Proffitt’s Resurrection Land Cruisers displayed a custom 79 series Toyota Land Cruiser at last week’s Speciality Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas Nevada.
Press Release (ePRNews.com) - AUSTIN, CO - Nov 26, 2017 - Cummins Repower and Proffitt’s Resurrection Land Cruisers displayed a custom 79 series Toyota Land Cruiser at last week’s Speciality Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas Nevada. The show stopping Land Cruiser features the just released Cummins R 2.8l Turbo Diesel crate engine. This compact power plant sends 161 hp and 267 ft-lb of torque through a Toyota 5 speed transmission and 2 speed transfer case, down to Toyota factory locked, live axles.
“We’ve been very excited, and frankly honored to be selected by Cummins to be a part of the beta testing program for this engine” stated Jeremiah Proffitt, co-owner and GM of Resurrection Land Cruisers. “This diesel installation is number 88 for us, and it’s my favorite so far.” With that many diesel conversions under their (Proffitt’s) belt, it’s no wonder that two different journalists used the phrases “OE quality” and “Better than OE” to describe the Land Cruiser.
The bright red Land Cruiser pickup was an instant hit at SEMA, garnering attention from several national and international media companies.
