Pain is the number one reason people seek help. Pain (and non-pain) symptoms are hard to describe and document because they are invisible, complex and change with time. The imprecise evaluation of pain and non-pain symptoms is the cause of many misdiagnoses, mistreatments and delayed treatments world-wide every year. In addition, it is increasingly required that clinicians document the results of their treatments.

Navigate Pain helps visualize and create a much more detailed shared understanding of pain and non-pain symptoms as well as pain development over time. It enables better communication between clinician and patient and better ability to view specific pain patterns as well as the whole picture. The system will enable much more fine-grained tracking of pain and non-pain symptoms several times per day from the patient’s home through the LINK functionality. Video timelines of pain patterns can be visualized as 5-second clips so clinicians can instantly grasp a patient’s history and use the information as documentation in patient journal systems.

Patients can document the location and spread of pain and symptoms on a body chart from home or clinic. Prior to and following initial consults, the clinician can track pain and symptoms and assess symptom progression or recovery. This helps the clinician to demonstrate how much they have helped a patient which is important for patient satisfaction and patient referrals.

It is expected that Navigate Pain will increase the precision and speed of correctly diagnosing causes of pain and facilitate the correct referrals within the healthcare system. It will enable clinicians to become more efficient and will enable a more precise and correct application of medication and treatment. Furthermore, it will enable health security payers to get better documentation of treatment results.

Navigate Pain is the only pain mapping tool world-wide that is evidence-based (based on thorough and extensive research) and commercially available. There are many innovative, unique and potentially patentable ideas that will be implemented in the tool longer term relating to the documentation and visualization of dynamic / moving pain symptoms and pain symptoms that are brought on by specific body movements.
