The Hannah Project for Academic Achievement

The Hannah Project Partnership for Academic Achievement is a community based education and cultural organization located in Marin City, California.  Utilizing culture and the arts to undergird its educational programming, the Hannah Project seeks to both build community and promote the value of achievement among low income black and brown youth in Marin City and Marin County as a whole. Our vision is to make college and career both an expectation and a norm.

As an education organization, the Hannah Project operates five programs:

• Freedom School;

• College Bound Brotherhood;

• Homework After Dark;

• College Conversations;

• Dream Keeper Scholarship

• Hannah Gallery Cultural Center

programs that work to equip youth 8 -22 and their families with the knowledge, skills, and strategies that build academic proficiency, develop character, and prepare students for success in high school, college, and career.

As a cultural organization, the Hannah Project operates the Hannah Gallery Cultural Center for Education and the Arts (The Gallery) which offers programming in four areas: Art Engagement; Performance; Youth and Arts; and Humanities.  Programming across these components includes art exhibition, musical and dramatic performance, art engagement, film and discussion, oral history, and thematic dialogue.  JazzANYTime and the Gospel Café anchor the Performance component, and Let’s Talk is the centerpiece for dialogue around current themes and issues.
