Press Release (ePRNews.com) - LONDON - Nov 08, 2018 - The Olive Oil Times Education Lab and the International Culinary Center are bringing their Olive Oil Sommelier Certification course to London. The renowned international program teaches people to become experts in olive oil quality and will be held for the first time in Bloomsbury, a district in London’s West End, Jan. 20-25, 2019. The program, which spans two levels, is directed by Curtis Cord, the president of Olive Oil Times.
“High-quality extra virgin olive oil is among the world’s healthiest and most delicious foods, not to mention a mainstay of our common culture,” says Cord, “Yet there are few who can distinguish between a great extra virgin oil and one pretending to be. For the first time in London this innovative, interactive and fast-paced curriculum will empower a generation of olive oil experts.”
Students will be exposed to an astounding variety of olive oils from 22 countries, drawn from the 1,000-sample library maintained by Olive Oil Times. Some of the course topics include sensory assessment, nutrition and health benefits, consumer perceptions, and standards and compliance. Topics will also focus on advanced tasting techniques, harvest and production and case studies in production. In addition, the course provides taste panel workshops.
