“I am greatly honoured to have taken on the role of Chairman of Penrhyn International at such an important time in our development. Under my predecessor Connie Adair’s expert stewardship, we have seen our organization evolve into a leading executive search network, whose success has been built around combining a genuine global footprint with locally driven industry insight and market intelligence, in order to deliver access to world class talent for our clients. I look forward to my role in helping lead Penrhyn to the next stage in its global success story.”
Mr. Herst’s career started in accountancy, where he gained commercial and corporate experience working in the profession, and as Head of Finance of a major international shipping group. He transferred his business knowledge into executive search, where over the past 30 years he has enjoyed a varied career.
Achievements include taking a staffing group and executive search practice to a full UK stock market flotation, and its subsequent sale to a major U.S. listed group. He now conducts senior level search for major global corporations, with particular focus on telecommunications, infrastructure, transportation and logistics. He joined Osprey Clarke in 2008. In addition to his business interests, he is proud to be a trustee of Haven House Children’s Hospice; an important UK charity that supports families and cares for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
Outgoing Chair Connie Adair, Managing Partner of U.S. member Taylor Winfield (www.taylorwinfield.com) comments: “ It has been an honour to serve as Chair for the last four years: we have been able to implement real change in our organization over this period which has allowed us to deliver ever greater levels of search capabilities to our international clients. I am excited to continue working alongside Michael in building an even stronger future for Penrhyn in my new role as Vice Chairman.”
During Penrhyn’s Paris AGM, Charles Lew, founding partner of U.S. member Coleman Lew + Associates (www.colemanlew.com) was also elected to the Board of Directors as Treasurer.
Mr. Lew established Coleman Lew & Associates in 1979. Over the past 37 years and more than 375 search engagements, he has earned a national reputation within the search industry. The majority of his searches have involved placing CEO’s, Presidents, and General Managers or their direct reports. He is active in the Charlotte community and a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow.
