Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s actual birthday took place yesterday which was marked by a Royal walkabout, 21-gun salute, Cutting of cake at the Guildhall, Beacon lighting and a special thanksgiving service at St George’s chapel inside Windsor Castle, the country residence of Kings and Queens for over 700 years. Professor Chris Imafidon, who has lectured at Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge, was one of the special guests at the cake-cutting ceremony, and after the event was interviewed by French, German, Polish and other international Television stations for his opinion of the Queen and modern monarchy. In the evening, a few hours ahead of President Obama’s arrival, Professor Chris Imafidon was joined by members of the Imafidon family to attend the special 90th Birthday thanksgiving service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
By attaining the age of 90, the Queen sets a new record as the oldest and the longest-reigning monarch ever on the throne. Guests were excited to see the winner of the Great British Bake off Nadiya Hussain “supervise” Her Majesty cut the 3-layer cake which she baked.
During his Television interview, Professor Chris Imafidon, a renowned Adviser to Governments, Presidents and Monarchs, said, “Her Majesty is great at connecting with ordinary people of all backgrounds, ages and dispositions. She is very comfortable with technology and has really been extremely adaptable to new and emerging technologies. Can you imagine that she sent her first emails in the early 1970s? How many grandmothers use technology with such confidence as her? How many serving monarchs have practical use of technology?”
The Queen’s official birthday will be celebrated from 10-12 June and all students of the ExcellenceinEducation.org.uk programme will participate in essay competitions, debates and other activities to mark the Queen’s 90th celebrations.
