Press Release (ePRNews.com) - NEW YORK - Sep 05, 2019 - The Randall’s Island Park Alliance (RIPA) is holding its 10th annual Run the River 5K on Saturday, September 21 at 9:30 am to raise funds that protect the beautiful waterways, wetlands, and sports fields of the Park. Runners and walkers of all ages and experience levels are invited to attend and participate.
The Run the River 5K starts and finishes in the iconic Icahn Stadium and continues along waterfront pathways featuring spectacular views of the East River and Manhattan. There will be free children’s fun runs on the track starting at 10:30 am for kids 12 and under, ranging in distance from 50-200 meters. Awards will be given out to the top finishers in each adult age groups. The 5K will end with a fun post-race party.
“We are thrilled to partner with NYCRUNS to put on this year’s Run the River 5K, this event is an important part of fundraising efforts and continues to fund our many free family community events and helps us to maintain and sustain the Park,” said Aimee Boden, President of Randall’s Island Park Alliance.
