Reliance Entertainment's Riverstone Pictures to Finance Sci-Fi Thriller "Replicas"

Press Release (ePRNews.com) - NEW DELHI, India - Aug 23, 2016 - Riverstone pictures, a Reliance Entertainment company has come on board with Remstar Studios to finance the sci-fi thriller flick “Replicas” starring Keanu Reeves and Alice Eve. Reliance Entertainment is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Reliance Group led by Anil Ambani.

The shoot of the movie has begun in Puerto Rico with Jeffrey Nachmanoff directing. The producing duties are handled by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Stephen Hamel along with Keanu Reeves, Mark Gao and Luis Riefkohl.Worldwide sales are handled by Lotus Entertainment. The company has targeted Toronto International Film Festival, happening next month, to sell “Replicas.” Lotus sold multiple markets at Berlin last year.

Riverstone backed by Ingenious Media would be the core financers for the movie, whereas Remstar Studios shall be co-financers, and Blue Rider in Puerto Rico is helping in financing locally.

Riverstone’s co-founders Nik Bower and Deepak Nayar shall be executive producers, with Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel from Lotus, Remstar’s Maxime Remillard and Clark Peterson, and Walter Josten for Blue Rider and Erik Howsam of Di Bonaventura Pictures and James Dodson.

The story is written by Chad St. John which narrates the after-tale of a car accident that killed the loving family of a neuroscientist who swears to bring them back by hook or crook.

Hamel currently is producing a film named “Passengers,” that stars Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt. Lotus lately financed a film starring Toms Hanks named “A Hologram for the King” and upcoming films include “Hands of Stone,” starring Edgar Ramirez and Robert DeNiro; Luis Prieto’s “Kidnap,” starring Halle Berry; and Sascha Gervasi’s “November Criminals,” starring Ansel Elgort and Chloe Grace Moretz. Whereas Remstar is currently producing Ideal Home starring Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan.

Riverstone by Reliance Entertainment has financed six films till date that includes Taylor Sheridan’s directorial debut “Wind River” and Peter Landesman’s Watergate drama “Felt,” starring Liam Neeson, and is developing its own production with family film “Show Dogs,” directed by Raja Gosnell, shooting in the fall.

Previously, Reliance Entertainment was also one of the top contenders for the 88th Academy Awards for the “Bridge of Spies”, which it presented with Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Pictures and Fox 2000 Pictures.
