Press Release (ePRNews.com) - BUEA, Cameroon - Aug 27, 2016 - Saint Monica University (SMU): The American International University today announced that it has established the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, which oversees the offices of Research, Institutional Research and Effectiveness, Grant Management, and the Institutional Review Board. This office will be lead by Dr. Joel Wozerou Nghonjuyi Ndaleh and an exceptional staff of highly qualified researchers and assistants.
Dr. Joel Wozerou Nghonjuyi Ndaleh will be the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Research & Sponsored Programs. He holds a PhD in Veterinary/Medical Parasitology and has years of research experience. He joined SMU last year where he worked first as the Coordinator of the School of Health and Human Services before being promoted to this coveted position.
As mandated by the US government, all research institutions must have an Institutional Review Board (IRB) and SMU has had one since its inception. The IRB Chair at SMU will be Dr. Julius Agbor Takow, who holds a PhD Agriculture from Texas A&M University in the United States and has held many senior positions in the Ministry of Scientific Research. He was a founding faculty at SMU and was formerly the AVP for Students Affairs and Enrollment Management.
The Director of Institutional Research & Effectiveness is Professor Ndeh N. Ningo, who is also the President’s Technical Advisor. He was previously the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. He holds a PhD Engineering and has been the Director of the College of Engineering at the University of Buea. He has over 30 years of teaching and administrative experience.
The Grants Manager is Dr. Martyn Tegha Sama, who holds a PhD in Public Health and is a State Registered Nurse. He has many years of research experience and is expected to develop and implement a plan for grants at SMU. He came to SMU from the public service where he put in over 30 years of experience.
