Press Release (ePRNews.com) - MONTCLAIR, N.J. - Jan 16, 2018 - Scientific Animations, a U.S. based medical animation agency, came forward to elaborate on “how prolonged exposure to screens has adverse effects on the health of adults as well as children”. The initiativeoffered an insight into the science behind the common health issues that most people suffer from today. The cover article introduced a unique term “Screenophilia”, meaning love for screens, or simply, screen addiction, while briefly explaining the health-related consequences of it.
As per Google trends, there has been a steady rise in the searches for terms like ‘phone addiction’ and ‘social media addiction’ in the past 5 years.
The articles and visuals released under the initiative threw light on the science behind how a particular health condition gets triggered or sometimes worsened by screen exposure.
“We’ve been observing how the steady invasion of laptops, smartphones, tabs, etc in people’s lives is impacting them for quite some time. A lot of research studies are being carried out lately to understand the impact of growing addiction to digital devices. We realized that there is a need to hptdw consciously cut down on the time we spend in front of screens, and for that, it was important to make our audience aware of their effects on human health- both physical and mental.”, said Girish Khera, M.D., Scientific Animations.
“Since the holiday season is the time when people are most prone to laze around, glued to their cell phones, we thought this is the best time to raise awareness on this issue.”, Girish added.
The health issues discussed under the initiative range from physical illnesses like metabolic syndrome, eye problems, posture abnormalities to mental illnesses encompassing cognitive issues and depression.
