Press Release (ePRNews.com) - Calgary, AB - Feb 28, 2018 - Sunshine Coast Health Centre, one of the top drug rehabilitation, alcohol treatment, and trauma therapy programs in Canada, is proud to announce a new blog post on “family interventions.” A brochure is also available to interested persons.
“Family support and even interventions can be helpful tools in helping a loved one seek out treatment for drugs, alcohol, or even trauma,” explained Casey Jordan, Chief Marketing Officer. “Our post offers a succinct explanation of how family interventions work, and interested persons can request a full brochure.”
To read the post, visit https://www.sunshinecoasthealthcentre.ca/2018/01/family-intervention/. The brochure explains how to distinguish between substance use and addiction and also the steps involved in a family intervention. One of the things that SCHC often suggests for people who are looking for help for a loved one is to join with other family members, friends, even employers. Everyone can work as a group rather than trying to do this individually. As is explained in the companion brochure, there is strength in numbers. The other thing that talked about in the brochure is that nagging, pleading, and other forms of trying to coax someone into treatment are often not very productive. There are other ways to deal with this issue and the brochure cover these as well as other common concerns.

Localized Support Centres: The Calgary Example
Although Sunshine Coast Health Centre has its headquarters in Powell River, British Columbia, and offers therapy for male clients at that location, SCHC also has “intake centres” in various key cities across Canada. These are useful for initial phone consultations and post-treatment support meetings and coaching. For example, those seeking to learn more about Calgary drug rehab and alcohol treatment options can visit https://www.sunshinecoasthealthcentre.ca/calgary-alcohol-treatment/, which is a page specific to Calgary, Alberta, and includes information as well as directions. Similarly, SCHC produces an in-depth addiction services directory which identifies Calgary resources for drug and alcohol recovery at http://www.canadadrugrehab.ca/alberta/alberta-locate-your-health-authority/calgary/. Any person who may be afflicted with substance abuse issues, and/or his loved ones are urged to reach out to the Centre for a private, confidential consultation.
