Tervis and Disabled American Veterans Provide More Than $1 Million in Veteran Benefits

Press Release (ePRNews.com) - Sarasota, Fla. - Jul 25, 2017 - Tervis, the Florida-based drinkware company, donated more than $34,000 to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) through their July 4 partnership. Since each $1 donated to DAV in 2016 resulted in $34 in earned veteran benefits and services, the partnership has the potential impact of more than $1 million to veterans, their dependents and survivors this year.

Every year for July 4, Tervis runs a patriotic promotion in their 45 official Tervis stores and on Tervis.com for the holiday weekend. This year, Tervis partnered with DAV to help veterans access their earned benefits instead of offering customers a discount or bonus gift.

During June 30 – July 4th Tervis donated $2 from every product sold online and throughout their 45 Tervis stores to DAV.

“I’m impressed by the generosity and patriotism of Tervis customers who made a $1 million financial impact for deserving veterans in just four days,” said DAV Executive Director Barry Jesinoski. “I’m looking forward to what we’re able to accomplish together in the future.”

Tervis President Rogan Donelly echoed that sentiment and said he chose to work with DAV because of their proven track record. “DAV has been serving veterans as well as their families since 1920 and connects over 1 million veterans to their earned benefits each year. When we’re celebrating our country’s independence, remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom felt right.”

DAV empowers veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. It is dedicated to a single purpose: fulfilling our promises to the men and women who served. DAV does this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; providing employment resources to veterans and their families; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life. DAV, a nonprofit organization with nearly 1.3 million members, was founded in 1920 and chartered by the U. S. Congress in 1932. Learn more at www.dav.org.
