The National Martial Arts League is coming to Nevada, and it’s Bringing a Pro Sports Team

The National Martial Arts League would like to bring professional point martial arts to Nevada, not the mixed martial arts seen on pay-per-view and UFC type events.

Press Release (ePRNews.com) - LAS VEGAS - Aug 28, 2017 - For over 70 years martial artists have experienced the many point tournament circuits in hopes of becoming the champion or being the best of the best.  Still so far no company or speculators seems to have taken the sport from its amateur standing to that of a major league sport. Plenty of opportunities have been made available to martial artists the Professional Karate Association (PKA), the ISKA and the World Combat League to name a few.

The NMAL is positioned like other major league sports to catapult its point martial arts to the professional level making thirty-two team franchises available for purchase. In Nevada there are over 400 martial arts schools of which 90% practice or participate using light-to medium contact to vital areas for scoring. This is what has come to be known as point martial arts, sport karate or add whatever disciple you like.

The NMAL would like to this sport professional allowing team members the opportunity to get paid to compete. Over the years martial artists may have competed in national circuits that were unfair or political and may no longer compete, there are also those that practice to stay in shape. It was said Mike Stone received his Black Belt in six months. To participate effectively in point martial arts one does not need years of study but maybe months. Just the imagine craze and excitement in offering every martial artist that follows the rules outlined of this professional point league ages eighteen to sixty the opportunity to compete and secure thirteen team positions to represent the state of Nevada in a National Championship against 31 other teams. As America’s health concerns continue to grace our news we are challenged to provide opportunities that provide excitement, health fitness and consistency and we think a professional point league for martial arts is just the vehicle to “Change the health of America”.

There are currently over 500 tournament circuits in the United States that have numerous tournaments throughout the year so martial artists are already accustomed to competing with rules, safety equipment and points. Natural progression to determine the best competitors for a professional team to represent a state would be a tournament. Not all martial arts tournaments are successful but just imagine what could happen to annual tournament over time if it were the team eliminations event to determine the best 13 competitors to represent Nevada in a national championship.
