The SWAN Forum to Host Leading Global Smart Water Event in the US

Press Release ( - SURREY, England - Nov 29, 2018 - The Smart Water Networks Forum (SWAN) is thrilled to announce that its annual, flagship event will take place in Miami, May 15-16, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency Miami. For the first time, this event is being held in North America due to the booming regional interest in smart water technologies and rapid growth of the SWAN North American Alliance.

Last year’s conference drew participants from 26 countries with 21 international water utility presenters. For the 2019 conference, SWAN is proud to partner with such leading water organizations as WEF, WRF, NACWA, the Resilient Utility Coalition (RUC) and Water Online. The conference theme “Navigating the Smart Water Journey: From Leadership to Results” will focus on meeting global water challenges through innovative, utility management strategies and cutting-edge, data-driven solutions. One of the confirmed keynotes will feature Hamilton Amadeo, the CEO of AEGEA –  a progressive Brazilian sanitation company active in 47 municipalities and nine states across Brazil.

Speaking on this exciting news, Hardeep Anand, deputy director of the Capital Improvement Program at the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, said, “Resilience in the water sector is a long-term journey – it continues to evolve based on the ability to both analyze past initiatives as well as accelerate. This is made possible through a strategic process of learning, collaboration, adaptation, planning, bold leadership and community engagement.
