Vietnam Veteran Challenge Coin Released!

Press Release ( - SUBIC BAY FREEPORT, Philippines - Feb 24, 2016 - Become one of the first ever to own this limited edition Vietnam Veterans Challenge Coin. The Vietnam War has left a profound impact on American History, and here at we are proud to honor our Nation’s warriors whom served their Country reguardless the political upheaval at home. Not unlike the Veterans of the Korean War these men and women were not greeted with parades and laurels rather they were shunned by society. We fully believe that is is never too late to simply say “THANK YOU” to the veterans. Created out of respect to the men and women that served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War we wanted to make a Vietnam Veteran coin design that would be professional and carry the elements and colors associated with Vietnam.

The history of American involvement in Southeast Asia in what was to become known as the Vietnam War began in 1950 when American military advisors arrived in what was then French Indochina.U.S. involvement escalated in the early 1960s, with troop levels tripling in 1961 and again in 1962.U.S. involvement escalated further following the 1964 Gulf of Tonkin incident, in which a U.S. destroyer clashed with North Vietnamese fast attack craft, which was followed by the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which gave the U.S. president authorization to increase U.S. military presence. Regular U.S. combat units were deployed beginning in 1965.

On 15 January 1973, Nixon announced the suspension of offensive action against North Vietnam. The Paris Peace Accords on “Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam” were signed on 27 January 1973, officially ending direct U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. A ceasefire was declared across North and South Vietnam. U.S. prisoners of war were released. The agreement guaranteed the territorial integrity of Vietnam and, like the Geneva Conference of 1954, called for national elections in the North and South. The Paris Peace Accords stipulated a sixty-day period for the total withdrawal of U.S. forces.

The original Vietnam Veteran Challenge Coin™.  Licensed and approved by the United States Navy.

The design features the colors of the Vietnam Campaign Medal, in remembrance of our veteran’s service. The more pronounced features of this design are an East Asian Dragon symbolic of the rich history of dragons in Asia. The Dragon is clutching an M-16 service rifle, the primary weapon of the American service members. An American flag flying in the breeze reminds us of our service to our Nation. The rich green and brown bamboo shoots are representative of both dreams and nightmares residing within the jungles of Southeast Asia.
