Press Release (ePRNews.com) - Detroit, Michigan - May 04, 2016 - Mr. Motley spoke to the students about the many opportunities available to them if they choose a career in engineering. He encouraged them to learn more about all the possibilities in this career field, including the manufacturing of Trijicon’s advanced riflescopes and sights for tactical and sporting applications.
“I think its important that Afro Americans get into engineering because its a field where we are not well represented,“ Mr. Motley said. “It drives a lot of the economy’s growth and is a great opportunity for Afro Americans to get involved and get into the business structure of America.”
“I was pleasantly surprised to see all the great preparation these students go through so they are ready for college, ready to take on the world,”
The Westside STEAM Master Class Series was recently introduced to the school to enrich the student’s understanding of the career options that exist in the STEAM fields and to ignite their passion to study further in these critical areas. STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math education.
“I was pleasantly surprised to see all the great preparation these students go through so they are ready for college, ready to take on the world,” said Trijicon President and CEO Stephen Bindon.
STEAM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in five specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Rather than teach the five disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEAM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.
