Who will be the 2020-2021 NFL MVP? How the favorites changed

The 2020-2021 NFL season is under way, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Kaiser Chiefs having the best start in the league so far. And there are also players who are absolute best, and are real favorites for the Most Valuable Player.

Let’s take a closer look at the current situation and the odds.

As mentioned, the Steelers go through an excellent season, having won all their 10 games this season, while the Chiefs won 11 and lost only one. That made the two teams favorites at winning the NFL championship.

Last season, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl 31-20 against the San Francisco 49ers, and they are the top favorites now too, with the New Orleans Saints second, and the Steelersthird. Basically, it would be a surprise if neither of these teams would win the Super Bowl.

But what about the favorites at winning the MVP award?

The media has been presenting the MVP award to the league’s most deserving candidate since the 1950. The title went to a quarterback in 12 out of the last 13 seasons.

Currently, the favorite is Patrick Mahomes, after Russell Wilson was for two months regarded as the top contender for the prize. If you want to bet on the odds of either of them winning the MVP title, for example at Unibet PA Sports Betting, you should know that Mahomes is clear favorite, with -278 odds, which means he is so close to the award.

Wilson dropped second since a month ago, with +400 currently, while Aaron Rodgers is third, +600. While we are approaching the moment of awarding the title, the three players seem the only ones to be seriously taken into account by the bookers. For example, fourth place Ben Roethlisberger has +2000 odds at winning the MVP award.

The odds were different a month ago. Then, Wilson had +100, and Mahomes and Rodgers +450. Mahomes opened as the favorite for the 2020 season, on February 5th, and he remained so until September 22nd.

He regained his top favorite position on November 17th, and then, one week later, he led the Chiefs to come back andget a sensational win over the Las Vegas Raiders. His odds are now way better-than-even, and that is a big step towards the title.
