WorkGenius Announces Public Access for Professional Freelancers

Press Release ( - COLOGNE, Germany - Sep 12, 2018 - Today at DMEXO 2018 in Cologne, Germany, WorkGenius announced it is opening its popular Digital Workforce platform to freelancers from around the world. The German start-up had previously limited access to well-paying digital projects to students from colleges in Europe and the Americas in order to derive valuable insights for its AI mechanism from a homogeneous group. A large group of non-student freelancers was added during the a comprehensive beta test earlier this year. Overall, there are now more than 300,000 WorkGeniuses active on the platform. Starting today, anyone the age of 18 can sign up to become a WorkGenius and generate a steady income stream by completing digital work through the platform. The company has evaluated each and every one of them through digital assessment centers during the sign-up process and subsequent ratings for work performed on the platform. With over 4 billion data points, the WorkGenius Digital Workforce ranks among the most thoroughly vetted and evaluated talent pools worldwide.

“When we founded WorkGenius, we had always intended to provide income opportunities for anyone, not just students, who have the skills that a certain task or project requires, regardless of their education, nationality, race, or gender. Opening up our platform to the world marks a new and exciting phase for our community of WorkGeniuses and the hardworking teams in Hamburg and New York who got us where we are today,” says Daniel Barke, CEO and Co-Founder of WorkGenius. With the expected spike in available talent comes the need for additional jobs and projects offered to WorkGeniuses on the platform. The team is confident that they can continue to balance supply and demand moving forward: “We’ve been intensifying our efforts to educate the corporate world on the incredible opportunities and flexibility that a Digital Workforce brings to them,” adds Barke. Clients in the U.S. and in Germany are increasingly looking to save costs and address short-term spikes in labor demand by augmenting full-time staff with freelancers, according to one WorkGenius Executive.

Research conducted by WorkGenius determined that companies struggle to find, evaluate, select, manage, and pay freelancers properly, especially when they require a large number of individuals to work on a project in parallel. The WorkGenius platform not only handles all these steps automatically but also splits large projects into smaller tasks that are then assigned to sometimes hundreds of freelancers. “We staff projects within 28 minutes on average,” explains Daniel Colomer, Head of Product. “It’s practically impossible for a company to do that without our technology.”

The company has more than doubled in size over the past year and plans to continue its expansion at the same pace. “We’ll be adding close to 20 additional team members over the course of the next 12-15 months in New York alone,” explains CEO Marlon Litz-Rosenzweig, who founded the company a little over 5 years ago with Daniel Barke.
