Bénéteau’s Award-Winning Oceanis 46.1 Sailboat to Break Waves in the Philippines Soon
Press Release (ePRNews.com) - Delhi - Oct 07, 2019 - The Philippine yachting community has good reason to be excited this year, as the Oceanis 46.1—an award-winning sailing yacht from the celebrated French boatbuilding company Bénéteau—will be reaching the shores of the Philippines soon.
Europa Yachts—the Philippines’ foremost authority in yachting and the country’s exclusive representative for Bénéteau boats—is set to sail the vessel in Subic late in 2019.
“There are a lot of new features to look forward to on the Oceanis 46.1, which has been lauded by many as a true masterpiece by its designers, Pascal Conq and Nauta Design,” said Richard Sarinas, Europa Yachts’ Director of Marketing and Business Development. According to Sarinas, the Oceanis line of sailing yachts follows a distinctive design philosophy—one which prioritizes comfort, ease of use, and sailing performance above all.
“The new Oceanis 46.1 ticks all of those boxes, and even more. She is truly worthy of the international accolades she has received, which stand as testaments to her exceptional beauty and incredible performance on the water. This is a vessel that we are proud to bring into the Philippine market,”Sarinas added.
A Distillation of Technologies
Though the Oceanis 46.1 was released internationally only in 2018, her pedigree goes back more than three decades ago. The first Oceanis boat by Bénéteau was built in 1986, and soon after, the line became the world standard for cruising, thanks to its engineers’ and designers’ pursuit of superior hull technology, efficient deck planning, optimized sail maneuvering, and gorgeous, customizable interior design.
The 14.6 meter-long Oceanis 46.1, whose naval architecture was spearheaded by Pascal CONQ, has inherited the stepped hull construction of her larger sister, the Oceanis51.1, but with notable improvements to hull stability. Pascal CONQ also ran rounds of digital-tank testing to eliminate any added resistance. Other structural improvements that can be found on the Oceanis 46.1 are her twin rudder, the broad shaping of the forward third of her hull, and her more optimized cockpit beam.
She’s also notable for her easy maneuverability, even when used for short-handed sailing. This is all thanks to her furling mast, self-tacking jib, and halyards and sheets that can be brought back to a single winch at each of the helm stations.
Decadent, Relaxing, and Tasteful Design
The Oceanis 46.1 is not only made for those who sail for sport. Her deck and interior design—both the handiwork of Nauta Design—make her an equally ideal companion for leisure sailing. Her cockpit can sit a total of 8 passengers, and it will likely be the center of all your social activities on board. She is also in possession of reclining sun loungers on either side of the companionway. Equipped with their own drink holders, these loungers can be moved effortlessly to the fore of the boat.
Her interiors, on the other hand, are comfortable, spacious, and well-illuminated, thanks to the natural light that floods in from her hull portholes. She can equip with either light brushed oak or mahogany wood details, which both evoke a homey and cozy atmosphere. However, the 46.1’s opulent liveaboard functionality is demonstrated best by the master’s cabin, which has integrated wooden bench-style seating, bookshelves, and a large and cozy island bed.
Award-Winning and Crowd-Pleasing
The Oceanis 46.1 entered the 2019 Düsseldorf International Boat Show, or boot Düsseldorf, as a top contender for the event’s European Yacht of the Year Awards. It emerged victorious in the “Family Cruiser” category, clinching the top prize. Panelists of the award-giving body lauded the Oceanis 46.1 for her high level of performance, as well as for the incredible sensations she yielded at the helm.
Philippine-based yachtsmen who are passionate about top-of-the-line sailboats and who want in on a blue-ribbon sailing experience should definitely keep an eye out the Oceania 46.1’s arrival.
