Press Release (ePRNews.com) - USA - Sep 26, 2019 - For students who are 15 to 19 years of age and who want to have the opportunity to learn a new language and discover a new culture, Rotary Youth Exchange provides several sponsored, study abroad programs and scholarships. As a foreign exchange student, they choose from a short-term exchange in the summer, a full academic year of high school, or a gap year abroad. The foreign student exchange programs of Rotary Youth Exchange materialize via Rotary Clubs operating in more than 100 countries.

During a recent personal conversation, the spokesperson of Rotary Youth Exchange informed, “We sponsor a variety of short-term exchanges that last from several days to three months. Our long-term programs last a full academic year. While students attend local schools and live with multiple host families as part of our long-term programs, our short-term programs are mostly structured as tours, camps, and homestays when the school is not in session. Under our study abroad programs, we provide rooms and boarding, as well as any school fees.”

Many students want to undertake a high school study abroad program but think that it might be too late due to a gap year. For such students, Rotary Youth Exchange offers an opportunity in the form of its gap year program abroad. This program is designed primarily for current high school students, but in fact, the sponsor does have a limited number of opportunities for students to participate in the program after graduation from a U.S. or Canadian high school.

The spokesperson also shared, “Our programs put meaning into students’ gap year travel. We also organize summer travel programs for high school students between ages 15 and 19 years. Under these programs, the experience of students begins the year before going to study abroad, as they go through the application, selection and preparation process. During their year abroad, students live with two to three host families that we carefully select and train.”

Under Rotary Youth Exchange’s high school summer travel programs, students study at a local high school and become proficient in a new language. This is an immersion program that helps students to become bicultural and bilingual and forever changes their perspective of the world. On Studyabroadscholarships.Org, students can also learn about the Study Abroad Scholarship of Rotary Youth Exchange. As part of this tailor-made scholarship, students receive a monthly stipend from the hosting Rotary Club, as well as homestay accommodation, meals, and primary tuition and placement in a school.
